The Ferrari 250 GTO was designed to compete in the GT class . It was an orthodox evolution of the Ferrari 250 GT SWB . The engineer Giotto Bizzarrini took the chassis of the Ferrari 250 GT SWB and mated with a V12 engine of 3.0 liter Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa.
